The University of North Florida Archaeology department headed up by Keith Ashley, professor has continued to be frequent group of students to perform their “Digs” to uncover the rich past history of Black Hammock Island.
The archaeological research-document 8DU81 was prepared by Keith Ashley, June, 2006 while being sponsored by Savannah College of Art & Design, Department of Liberal Arts.
